Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984, in New York City New York. She is an American actress/singer whose versatility has earned her recognition in a variety of genres - from thrillers and adventure films to period dramas. Johansson lived in New York City as the daughter of an architect, and also a production company. Her twin brother Hunter were the youngest siblings of four. As a child she was able to begin acting. In fact, by seven she was already auditioning for several commercials. To enhance her skills, she attended an acting class at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan followed by at the Professional Children's School. When she was eight, she appeared together with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry and, at the age of nine she made her first film appearance with Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson then appeared as a character in Just Cause, but she was first seen in Manny & Lo, a film that follows orphaned siblings as they flee. For The Horse Whisperer, Johansson was a teenager who suffered an incredibly tragic accident. The role she played in Ghost World brought her more notoriety as the infamous teenager Rebecca. Renee Felice Smith was a young girl when she started her professional career as an entertainer. When she was a kid, she became interested in acting. Smith got her first of her acting gigs in the age of 6. She appeared in a Dannon TV commercial. She decided, like the majority of actresses just starting out, to refine her abilities in the theatre. In addition, she worked on other projects throughout the USA, while Wildflower was her first onstage show. She was a student at in the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory, part of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
